Originality, Concept, Costume Design, Make Up, Character, Believability, Commitment to Details
These are the criteria the judges use to decide the Winners in The Costume Contest Category:
Originality: How Original is Your Idea?
Example: Last Year Taunya Damon defended her title brilliantly as The Ice Witch, making her the 2014 Best Witch Winner
Judges had never seen an Ice Witch before
Concept: Will The Judges Understand what it is by looking at you?
Example: 2013 Best Witch Taunya Damon stayed in her costume for the entire event
You knew she was The Witch. She Worked it and she won.
Costume Design :
Example: 2013 Winner Bill Kennedy was Tickles, The Creepy Clown
Yes we have seen Creepy Clowns Before. What made Bill the Winner was his Costume Design
From the hair on his mask, the teeth, the mask itself had a moveable jaw, His Jacket and Boots~Flawless Design in The Judges Eyes
Example: Christopher Blackwood was Best Winner for 2014
His Make Up, Contact lenses, and dreadlocks pulled his look together and all done by his hand
Example: Ed and Donna Crowley, Best Couple Winners for 2013
Ed and Donna stayed in true Vampyre Character for the entire evening.
One got this eerie sense that Ed would bite you on the neck if you got too close
All of our Winners had believabilty, yet once again we defer to the aura of The Crowleys
and Bill Kennedy as Tickles The Clown. Tickles was just plain creepy and Bill played it to the hilt!
Commitment to Detail:
The Crowley's defended their Best Couple title in 2014 title with Donna's handmade and handpainted masks, depicting The Day of The Dead
Christopher Blackwood's toothpick through his nose
The Buckles and lapel on Tickle's Jacket, hand done by Bill Kennedy and the tiny hat on the top of his head
The Crystals in Taunya's Headpiiece, the cap of 'witch' was crocheted by her Mother and her hand crafted walking staffs
